A case of juvenile rheumatoid arthritis persisting into adulthood

Abstract
|
|
|
This is a report of juvenile rheumatoid arthritis persisting into adulthood in a 26 year old Korean male, who has been suffering from the disease since his 12 year old, when pain, and swelling developed in both knee joints associated with high fever.
During the period of 15 years suffering, all the peripheral joints and axial joints have been affected gradually with marked muscle atrophy in the lower extremities.
A review of literature is submitted with a discussion on differential diagnosis from ankylosing spondylitis and rheumatoid arthritis in adulthood.
